How to choose the right Mattress

What is your reason for buying a new mattress?

If you’re moving into a new home, chances are, your Mattress is like a long-term investment. As long as it promises to be comfortably long-lasting and has a warranty that comes along with it, you will be willing to pay a reasonable price. Since you plan to stay in that new home for at least the next five years, you want that Mattress to last just as long. On the other hand, if the Mattress is serving a more functional or medicinal purpose, you will likely want the Mattress for less than five years. In this situation, you’re also not looking at it as a mattress but more as an aid to healing.

You’re also looking to get the best deal for your money in both situations, so a good discount or payment option is a bonus.

What firmness to choose for your sleeping position?

The position of your sleep can be crucial in your mattress selection process. Back sleeper, stomach sleeper, side sleeper – one position is usually better than the other, and that choice is generally personal. Try to be aware of your sleep position and consider it while buying a mattress.

      Each Mattress has two layers:

      • Comfort Layer:- this layer closest to the body touches your body first when you sleep. E.g., Latex Foam, Memory Foam, etc.
      • Support Layer:- this primary layer supports the Mattress, affecting durability. E.g., PU Foam, Pocket Springs, Bonnel springs, etc.
Try it out with your current bed mattress at home. Sleep in your normal posture to feel how the Mattress feels against your body – now consciously decide if you need a more firm or soft support at night.
